Inherent defect

Also known as a product or manufacturing defect. This is a defect in one of the components, such as panels or inverters, which is due to a defect in the design, material used or workmanship. Own defects are usually covered by the manufacturer’s warranties. It is possible to additionally insure your own defect with an all-risk solar panel insurance policy, whereby additional costs are also insured, missed revenues and disassembly and reassembly costs. An inherent defect also pays out cover in the event of bankruptcy of the manufacturer or a dispute.
