A while ago we announced that our Risk Management specialist Esmée Walker has been working on a paper. Our last paper was all about fire, now we’re also taking on water! Our newest paper addition to the family is all about floating solar, possible risks, key problems, but also solutions to have the most optimized yield.
Dutch people have a special bond with water. Since there is plenty of water in the Netherlands, floating solar can pose a good solution to utilize this available ‘space’. So what are the most common risks in floating photovoltaics? And what could be a prototype of an inspection plan, specifically made for floating solar? This paper is designed to address key problems when working with floating solar arrays to make sure you can maintain the best possible output and, ultimately, stay afloat.
