Insurance during the construction phase
- Construction All Risk (CAR).
This insurance provides cover during the construction phase. The cover includes theft and accidents during the construction phase.
- Installers and EPC-contractors can take out this insurance through the central organisation for all affiliated installers.
- Project developers are advised to include this in the project price. An installation company usually claims to already have taken out a CAR insurance. Still, we advise you as an interested party to take out your own CAR insurance. It is always possible that an installer has “forgotten” to pay the premiums. This also gives you more control over any payments for damages.
- Liability.

- Transport.
Businesses that work with a turnkey partner have usually made adequate arrangements. However, panels are often temporarily stored in a secure environment before they are installed. If that is the case, the risk during transport to the building site therefore again lies with the project developer. The supplier is no longer responsible for the last journey.
